Mental Health Matters: a newly funded project

We are pleased to announce that Tatiana Ogourtsova (PhD OT) and team are recipients of the CRIR New Initiative funds for the project “MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS: A new initiative to optimize mental health services and supports for children with disabilities and their families”.

This project involves 3 clinical sites, including the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital (CISSS Laval), the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Center (CIUSSS West-Central), and the Centre de Readaptation en Deficience Physique (CISSS des Laurentides).

The main aim of this project is to optimize mental health management for children with physical disabilities (e.g. cerebral palsy) and their families through 1) consolidating a map of existing resources, supports, and care-pathways; 2) exploring current practices and their impacts from the perspectives of health professionals and caregivers; and 3) organize a joint Community of Practice targeting pediatric mental health management and research.

Stay tuned for more information on the progress of this project!
